- Payment information: Processed securely by Stripe. We never store your credit card details. We only receive confirmation of successful payment and your subscription status.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, and pages visited — collected automatically via Google Analytics.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information for the following purposes:
- To create and manage your TheBidCraft account
- To generate contractor proposals using AI on your behalf
- To process your subscription payments through Stripe
- To send you account-related emails such as email verification and password resets
- To provide customer support when you contact us
- To improve our service based on how users interact with the platform
- To enforce our Terms of Service and prevent abuse
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for marketing purposes.
3. AI-Generated Content Disclosure
TheBidCraft uses artificial intelligence — specifically the Anthropic Claude API — to generate contractor bid proposals based on the information you provide. By using this feature, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
- The proposals generated by our AI are provided as a starting point and should be reviewed and verified by you before sending to any client.
- AI-generated line items, pricing, and totals are estimates based on general market data. They may not reflect the exact costs, labor rates, or material prices in your area.
- TheBidCraft is not responsible for any financial loss, incorrect pricing, or business decisions made based on AI-generated proposals. You are solely responsible for reviewing and approving any proposal before sending it.
- The job details you enter are transmitted to Anthropic's API to generate your proposal. Anthropic processes this data in accordance with their own privacy policy. We do not store your job descriptions permanently.
- AI-generated content should not be considered professional legal, financial, or contracting advice.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your account data is stored securely using Supabase, a trusted database provider. We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) on all pages
- Secure password hashing — we never store plain-text passwords
- Row-level security policies that ensure users can only access their own data
While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no system is completely immune to security risks. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you promptly.
